Hedge Laying
Hello there, I am a Master Thatcher working in Witshire and covering Hampshire, Somerset and Berkshire. Previously an employee, I served my apprenticeship with a well established and renowned family run thatching company from whom were passed on generations of love and knowledge of the thatching craft.

I focus on quality workmanship at fair prices and offer a complete thatching service, whether it be a small repair or entire re-thatch.
I use quality Wheat reed, long straw and water reed, keeping materials as local as possible. All rod work and spars are hazel or willow locally sourced wherever possible.

I would love to work with you on keeping your property water tight and beautifully presented.

Don't hesitate to ring for friendly advice.

Hedge laying is a traditional country skill used for centuries throughout the British Isles. Starting mainly as a way of obtaining a stock proof barrier it has now evolved into an essential wildlife habitat in our forever dwindling countryside.
There are many regional styles of hedgelaying across the UK and each has been developed over many years to cope with local climates, farming practices and the types of tree and shrub in the hedge.
A well managed hedgerow is thick and bushy, an impenetrable barrier to sheep and cattle and a haven for wildlife
Hedgelaying is the only hedgerow maintenance method currently available which promotes regrowth from ground level and which will ensure the health and longevity of the hedgerow.
Whether you have a few yards of hedge or miles we are the folk to lay it for you.
